KPR Staff: Account Directors

Brian Hyland

Often mistaken for the 1960s pop star who sang “Yellow Polka Dot Bikini,“ this Brian Hyland does not sing (except in the shower and occasionally at karaoke bars) and he is much younger.

Prior to joining KPR as Account Director, Brian represented companies and organizations in a wide array of fields: medical devices, hospitals, banks, education, labor, municipal governance, community organizations, and shrubbery ...seriously, shrubbery.

Brian graduated from Seton Hall University with a GPA of 3.599999, missing Magna Cum Laude by one millionth of a point, thanks to that adjunct professor in freshman English. (Alas, he wasn't able to recite the prologue to Canterbury Tales in 14th-Century dialect). Now, a professional communicator and writer for over 16 years, he sayeth “Pshaw“ and bites his thumb at Chaucer.

Brian is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and an Eagle Scout. Even though he is from New Jersey, he has never met Snooki.

Joann Wardrip

Before becoming an Account Director at KPR, Joann spent years honing her skills in the worlds of public relations, politics and black-diamond skiing. She also speaks fluent German and loves hatha yoga, first introduced by Yogi Swatmarama in the 15th century, or was it Yogi Berra?

You would think advertising/marketing firms would be good at boosting their own image, but it turns out they need public relations experts, too. Joann was one of them when she entered the world of PR after a stint in politics and government.

Her time in campaign fundraising, navigating the halls of Congress as a congressional aide, and as a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Energy taught Joann to expect the unexpected and exceed high expectations.

She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with degrees in Political Science and International Affairs.

Her favorite quote: “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.“ - Plato
